When Bruce Patz and Rob Basso of Associated Human Capital Management (Associated HCM) were looking for a bank that offered the cash management services they needed to meet their growing business needs, they turned to Northern Bank.
CASH MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE
Rob and Bruce initially met while both were owners of separate branches of a national payroll franchise and forged a strong working relationship. As they became close friends, Bruce and Rob started talking about starting their own business. After selling their respective payroll companies, they opened the doors of Associated HCM in 2006 to provide HR and payroll services to medium-sized businesses.
“As a payroll services company, we manage client funds on a daily basis,” Rob explained “and we were looking for a financial institution that was not only solid, secure and had long-term track record of success, but also had that white glove, personal service.”

“But what really impressed us beyond that,” continued Bruce, “was their attentive service. Like many businesses, we recently applied for a PPP loan through Northern Bank. Our representative at Northern Bank, worked closely with us to get the loan submitted and approved, even calling us at 10 pm one night to talk through some things related to our loan, because we were under an extremely tight deadline. That’s the type of service you just don’t get from most large, full service banks.”
A Growing Partnership
“Rob and I have aggressive growth plans,” Bruce continued. “We’re looking to grow around 30%. As we progress, we’ll certainly talk with Northern Bank about our lending needs. They’ve been a great fit for us and we really appreciate how they personally take care of everything."

Bruce owns and leads the Boston branch, and after 22 years in the payroll industry, Bruce puts his values of transparency and trust to work delivering solutions for clients in a wide range of industries.
