Woburn, Massachusetts, July 19, 2022 – Northern Bank employees stepped up to the plate in July to help a displaced family move into permanent housing.
Working in partnership with nonprofit Heading Home and its “Up & Out” program, about a dozen employees volunteered to move the family into its new home in Newton, Mass. On a very hot and humid day, they hauled furniture and other household items donated by Northern Bankers to help alleviate the financial burden for the family.
The benefiting family – a single mom with three children – was overwhelmed with gratitude and hugged every volunteer at the end of the day.
For over 60 years, community giving has been part of Northern Bank. Today, working through the bank’s charitable foundation, it focuses specifically on providing food, shelter and housing to local families.

Acquiring new customers, exceeding your revenue goals, and creating new opportunities for your business are what most business owners dream about. But companies that grow rapidly, often experience unexpected challenges when it comes to hiring and managing people.
As tax season approaches, it’s an important time to get your finances in order—but it’s also a peak period for cybercriminal activity. Scammers frequently exploit this time of year by sending fraudulent emails or making phone calls that appear to come from legitimate tax-related organizations.
