Woburn, Massachusetts, August 26, 2025 – Northern Bank announces an ongoing community food drive initiative, bringing together neighbors across Middlesex County to help ensure no family goes hungry. Running through December 2025, this collaborative effort demonstrates the bank's commitment to helping communities thrive together.
The food drives rotate monthly between Northern Bank branches, creating multiple opportunities for community members to contribute:
Upcoming Food Drive Schedule:
"At Northern Bank, we believe your journey is more than just financial—it's about being part of a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive," said Teresa Evangelista, Head of Retail Banking. "These food drives represent our shared values: when we work together, we can create real, meaningful change for families who need our support most."
The initiative launched in July with drives at the Bank’s Chelmsford and Woburn branches and is accepting donations at the Bank’s Westford and Stoneham Branches through the end of August. This initiative invites community members to bring non-perishable food donations to participating locations. Each month, two to three branches serve as collection points, making it convenient for neighbors to contribute and ensuring consistent support reaches local food pantries and families in need.
“Food insecurity affects too many of our neighbors, and this initiative is one way we can make a direct, positive impact,” said Katrina Sweeney, Regional Manager, VP. “At Northern Bank, we’re committed to building stronger futures, not only through financial services but also through initiatives like this food drive.”
As a community-focused commercial bank, Northern Bank's food drive initiative reflects the institution's broader mission of investing in the people and places that matter most. Through volunteering, strategic partnerships, and the Northern Bank Charitable Foundation, the bank continues to demonstrate that helping communities grow helps everyone succeed.
Community members can drop off non-perishable food items during regular banking hours at participating branches. For specific branch locations and hours, visit nbtc.com or call 800-273-6908.
