Sudbury, Massachusetts, December 3, 2024 – This Giving Tuesday, Northern Bank is excited to share the recipients of a recent community giving initiative at the Bank’s Sudbury location. The promotion featured a custom, oversized piggy bank where visitors to the branch could vote for one of three participating local nonprofit organizations by dropping a colorful token into the piggy bank.
Participating nonprofit organizations included HopeSudbury, Save A Dog, and the Sudbury Community Food Pantry. “These organizations provide critical support to a diverse range of members of our community,” said Michelle Arnold, Northern Bank Charitable Foundation Committee Member. “We are thankful for the work these organizations do, and we are grateful to partner with them at this crucial time of year.”
The community votes have been tallied! Sudbury Community Food Pantry received the most votes and was the top grant recipient of $10,000. HopeSudbury received a $5,000 grant for second and Save a Dog a $2,500 grant for third.
Each of the participating organization fills a unique need in the community. HopeSudbury provides humanitarian aid to people in need. Last year HopeSudbury supported 77 households with 79% of the assistance going toward basic living expenses, such as utilities or rent. Save A Dog rescues and rehomes abandoned animals, ensuring that rescued animals are healthy prior to adoption and paired with an appropriate home. The Sudbury Community Food Pantry provides nourishment to any family or individual in need, assisting 60 to 80 families weekly.
