Important News and Information:

Please be aware there is an automated phone scam occurring where the call appears to be coming from Northern Bank & Trust Company.  Please be advised to not provide any information on these calls.  The local authorities have been made aware of the situation and are investigating.

Northern Bank And Trust Company has recently been made aware of a data breach at Heartland Payment Systems- one of the largest payment processing venues for debit and credit transactions.  The breach involved information acquired from the magnetic strip including card numbers, names on cards and expiration dates.  Northern Bank has responded to this breach by issuing new VISA debit cards to all affected customers and reducing the daily transaction limit for non-PIN debit transactions to $50.00.  A letter will go out on January 21, 2009 notifying those affected by this incident and providing information on the re-issue of their debit card.  In the interim, customers should review their statements and debit card transactions for any possible fraudulent activity.  Please report any suspicious transactions to our Deposit Services Specialists at 781-937-5400.
